DC Area Forecast: The streak of nice days continues as we tend to be warmer today, cooler tomorrow

A somewhat subjective rating of today’s weather, on a scale of 0 to 10.

8/10: Another solid spring day with a slightly warmer trend. And another day, we may not be able to shake off the smoky haze.

  • Today: Partly to mostly sunny, low humidity. Treble: upper 70s to lower 80s.
  • This evening: Partly to cloudy, brief shower? Lows: upper 40s to mid 50s.
  • Tomorrow: Partly to mostly sunny, a little windy. Highs: 60 upper to 70 lower.

We will end the work week on a high note with seasonal springtime warmth today, cooler sunshine tomorrow and a rather pleasant Friday as well. Saturday is expected to start the holiday weekend partly sunny and still dry, before the chance of rain increases on Sunday and Memorial Day. If and how much rain we get is very uncertain as of now. As for that wildfire smoke, it looks like it will still linger today.

Today (Wednesday): Another beautiful with partly to mostly sunny skies, low humidity and light winds. From a somewhat chilly start in the upper 40s to mid 50s, temperatures warm up nicely to afternoon highs in the upper 70s to above 80 degrees. Confidence: High

This evening: The sky becomes partly cloudy as a cold front approaches from the north. Not much humidity around, but I can’t rule out a brief downpour as the cold front passes in the evening. Overnight lows drop back into the upper 40s to mid 50s as winds turn somewhat gusty, gusting to nearly 25 mph from the north. Confidence: medium-high

Tomorrow (Thursday): All the clouds from early to mid morning again give way to mostly sunny skies. An occasional gusty breeze may persist in the morning with lighter winds in the afternoon. Most notably, temperatures are much cooler, but still comfortable with highs in the high 60s above 70 degrees and even lower humidity. Confidence: medium-high

Tomorrow evening: Mainly clear continuation with light winds. Temperatures are quite cool with lows dipping into the upper 40s and lower 50s, about 10 degrees below average. Confidence: High

Friday expected to start mostly sunny, but could see increased afternoon clouds depending on the northward progress of a storm developing off the southeast coast. Overall another pleasant day with light winds, low humidity and highs in the low to mid 70s. Partly to mostly cloudy Friday evening with lows in the upper 40s at mid-1950s. Confidence: medium-high

As of now, the coastal storm seems to stay far enough to our south to allow us partly sunny and dry weather. SATURDAY with highs in the 70s. Saturday evening could bring a chance of light showers with lows in the 50s. Confidence: Medium

Some models show rain Sunday while some models keep us dry. More models show the rain on Remembrance Day, but there are still some that keep us dry. It all depends on how far north this coastal storm is to our south. For now, all we can say is that there is at least a chance of showers on both days, possibly a better chance on Monday, with highs aiming for the 70s. Confidence: Low
