Kanye West and Gap are still going strong in the wake of their failed partnership… and now things are going badly in the form of a $2 million lawsuit.
According to new legal documents, obtained by TMZ, Gap wants Kanye to foot the bill for any damages he may suffer in a lawsuit he’s facing…because Gap believes Ye and his company are responsible for them. getting into this mess.
In regards to this mess – Gap is being sued by Art City Center, a company that claims to own a building in downtown Los Angeles that was leased to Gap as a showcase for Kanye’s Yeezy clothing line.
Art City Center says the building went through a ton of unapproved changes when Gap was peddling the Yeezy collaboration in 2021 and 2022 … and the company is suing Gap for the cost of restoring the premises. So Gap is basically trying to shift that responsibility onto Kanye.
In the lawsuit, Gap says its contract with Kanye provided that Gap would not be liable for any such claims that may be brought against them.
Gap is suing Kanye for more than $2 million…which includes the amount the company thinks it’s about to get snatched from the Yeezy store — plus a little extra for attorneys’ fees from Gap, of course.
