2023 has brought a lot of reunion talk but little action in the saga of Oasis siblings Noel and Liam Gallagher. Earlier this year, Noel Gallagher said in an interview that Liam should call him if he was serious about an Oasis reunion, while Liam called out Noel for damaging the band and the Oasis brand in a tweet from answer. Now Noel has reiterated his stance in a new interview and Liam has once again taken to social media with a response.
Noel Gallagher spoke with talkSPORT’s White and Jordan about the possibility of a reunion, with the guitarist-singer and songwriter saying: “Well, I organized (a reunion) there. I mean, he might call me. He keeps talking about it. You’d think he had some kind of plan now. And if he has a plan, he should talk to me. He won’t talk to me because it’s a coward.
The elder Gallagher added: “But he should get some of his men, his agent, to call my people and say, ‘Listen, that’s what we think’ and then we’ll have a conversation about it. Until then, he’s being a bit dishonest. I’m open to a phone call. Other than that, stop playing with the kids, it’s not fair to the fans.
After news of Noel’s latest interview started making the rounds, Liam took to Twitter to air his thoughts. “I don’t wish AIDS on people. I show up and play MUSIC for the people of MANCHESTER who have just suffered a terrorist attack while you sit on your shabby sipping champagne and have the audacity to call me a COWARD sit down (bell),” Liam Gallagher wrote.
The Manchester reference dates back to 2017 when Liam called for a meeting after a terrorist attack at an Ariana Grande concert, joining the ‘One Love Manchester’ bill. When Noel didn’t join the performance, Liam performed and later called out his brother on social media.
“Manchester, I would like to apologize for my brother’s absence last night, very disappointed. Stay beautiful, stay safe,” he said. initially offered. At the end of April, Noel Gallagher revealed during an interview that there would be no Oasis reunion in support of the 30th anniversary of their Definitely maybe first album. “There won’t be a tour, we won’t be coming back to play them together,” Noel said at the time, while revealing that plans were in the works for a 30th anniversary reissue of the record.
Liam, earlier this month, shared with a follower on Twitter that he still plans to salute the album live on its 30th anniversary. “As it’s been 30 years since DM was released next year, I’ll be playing the album from start to finish in its original order in a few BIBLICAL venues,” he said. He then answered a few questions, responding that he would do it without Noel, that he would perform the songs as they were originally recorded, and that he would play B-sides as well, singling out “Cloudburst” as one of the Songs.

So, for now, it looks like there is no reunion in sight for the siblings. Both musicians continue to perform as solo artists. Liam Gallagher released the album C’mon You Know last year, while Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds will release their Council Sky album on June 2.
