Suspect in home incident dies after police chase in Des Moines County

Des Moines police say a suspect in a home incident Sunday morning is now useless after embarking on a chase with the Iowa State Patrol and different legislation enforcement.

On Sunday afternoon, police say Joshua Paul Thompson, 31, was noticed in western Des Moines County in southeast Iowa and a chase has begun.

Officers say Thompson seems to have shot and killed himself as authorities closed in.

Police say Thompson kidnapped a girl. She is protected after the police chase.
