Texas Governor Greg Abbott is not going to order the removing of floating limitations from the Rio Grande, in defiance of the US Division of Justice.
“Texas will make full use of its constitutional authority to take care of the disaster you may have triggered,” Abbott wrote in a letter to President Joe Biden following final week’s DOJ request to take away the limitations.
He added, “Texas will see you in courtroom, Mr. President.”
The showdown between Abbott and the federal authorities comes as Texas’ remedy of migrants attempting to enter the USA illegally comes beneath scrutiny.
