Tom Hanks and his wife Rita appear to scold the man at the film’s Cannes premiere

Tom Hanks appeared to scold an employee as he walked the red carpet alongside his wife, Rita Wilson, at the Cannes Film Festival on Tuesday night.

In the photographs, the stranger could be seen gesturing towards the ‘A Man Called Otto’ actor, 66 – who was dressed in a black tuxedo – as he posed with his ‘Asteroid’ co-stars City” at the film’s premiere.

Once Hanks was joined by his wife on the mat, he could be seen pointing his finger at the young man and pulling a stern face during their conversation.

Wilson – who looked stunning in a black dress and long black coat embellished with silver gems – had also raised her hand during the heated discussion, however, it’s unclear what they were talking about.

Despite the incident, the “That Thing You Do!” the co-stars continued their red carpet journey, posing for more photos.

Page Six reached out to Hanks’ rep for comment, but did not immediately respond.

The couple’s exit comes nearly a month after he and Wilson, also 66, celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary.

The ‘Now and Then’ actress shared a sweet photo of her hubby staring at her while holding a cake with the words “Happy Birthday” written on it.

Hanks and Wilson first met on the set of “Bosom Buddies” in 1981. The couple started out as just friends since the “Cast Away” star was married to college sweetheart Samantha Lewes. at the time.

The “Larry Crowne” co-stars then went public with their relationship in 1986 and tied the knot two years later.

They share two children together: sons Chet, 32, and Truman, 27. Hanks is also the father of son Colin, 45, and daughter Elizabeth, 41, from his previous marriage to Lewes.
