Xo, Kitty is a new release netflix series that follows the story of Kitty (Anna Catcart) of the popular To all the boys I’ve loved before franchise. The series follows Kitty on a journey of self-discovery as she flies to South Korea to attend the same international school her mother attended.
Of course, the added bonus is that Kitty’s longtime boyfriend Dae (Choi Min Young), also attends school, but their reunion does not go as planned.
Instead, Kitty is thrown into a love triangle between Dae, Min Ho (Lee Sangheon), and Yuri Han (Gia Kim).
While the love triangle between Dae and Min Ho was evident in the trailer, viewers didn’t expect Kitty to develop a crush on Yuri.
so I just finished xo, kitty. from the teasers, I had a completely bad impression. I’m actually glad they decided to tell a story about self-discovery instead.
also, the show is a clear response to the success of Asian Western media productions and I found myself enjoying it.

While the show focuses on Kitty’s self-discovery, many viewers are excited to see Kitty explore her sexuality.

But some viewers felt that Kitty’s crush on Yuri was included”for representation” rather than as a viable option in the love triangle. However, the show’s creator, Jenny Hanquickly put an end to these claims.
